It only takes a minute... It only takes a minute to lock your doors, but takes a lot longer to replace your belongings if you become a victim of burglary. If you’re heading out into the garden or popping across to a neighbour’s, no matter for how long, always make sure all your front and rear doors are locked Also, always lock your doors behind you whenever you return home… it reduces the chance of forgetting them later and helps keep burglars out! Opportunistic thieves seek out any opening that they can take advantage of, such as doors and windows that are left open or unlocked.... so think like a thief and make sure you do everything you can to keep your home safe and secure! Keep all valuables and keys, including car keys and keyless car entry fobs, out of sight, and out of reach of windows and letterboxes Ensure any side gates are locked to prevent access to the back of your property and ensure your garage doors or outbuildings are shut and locked Always double check you've not left any ladders or garden tools laid about outside Let's all enjoy this beautiful weather and just spend a few minutes making sure our homes are safe and sound! Please remember – if you see a crime in progress, ring us on 999 immediately. If you see any suspicious behaviour, you’re not wasting our time, please call 101. If the crime has already happened and the suspect has gone, call 101 or report online via our website. | ||
